DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CBD OIL AND HEMP SEED OIL

The 2018 Farm made it mandatory for all CBD products to have less than 0.3% THC, thus increasing people's interest in Hemp-based CBD products. The addition of hemp seed oil in several products has also been available for several years. However, the question of if CBD oil and hemp oil are the same still arises.

CBD oil and hemp oil are both obtained from cannabis Sativa plants and are also legal at the federal level. Although from the same plant, they are closely related and could be seen as cousins instead of identical twins. People have over the years used them interchangeably or in advertising that is misleading; both are not the same as perceived. Let us make clarity on this.

It is important to note that cannabis is a group of large hybrid plants with different concentrations of cannabinoids such as CBD, THC, CBG, CBN, and CBG.

About CBD oil

CBD oil comes from the leaves, stalks, and flowers of the hemp plant, and usually, it is cultivated for its high CBD (cannabidiol) concentration which is one of the compounds found in the cannabis Sativa plant. CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) to regulate many other systems. CBD oil has been promoted to have the potentials to help in relieving stress, managing anxiety and depression, improving sleep quality, relieving pain, reducing inflammation, enabling best moods, reducing epileptic events, and promoting alertness and focus.

About hemp seed oil

This is derived from cannabis seeds and has several potential health benefits, which include an ideal ratio of rich fatty acids. These omega fatty acids are said to help with cardiovascular health by reducing the speed of plaque build-up that is in the arteries, simultaneously lowering blood pressure. Hemp seeds oil has also been promoted largely to be a beauty ingredient that benefits the hair, nails, and skin. For a long time, hemp has been grown for its industrial use and fibre.

Hemp Seed Oil vs. CBD Oil

Since hemp seed oil comes from the seed of the hemp plant, it contains little to no CBD. Both products are beneficial but are processed and produced using different methods and have different uses. This means that they are not the same. In the process of shopping for any cannabis products, it is important to be sure of what you intend to buy and look out for some simple phrases to ensure that you are getting what you expect. When looking for CBD oil, look out for terms such as; full spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, and CBD isolates. Summarized below are a few differences between the two:

  • 1.Side effects

The benefits of cannabis do not change whether it is CBD oil or hemp seeds oil; it is noteworthy that CBD oil and its products have more side effects than hemp seeds oil and its products.

  • 2.CBD content

While hemp oil contains little to no CBD, CBD oil is rich in CBD. This means CBD oil has a better chance of interacting with the endocannabinoid system than hemp seed oil.

  • 3.Legality

Both are legal under certain laws. The hemp seed oil contains some phytochemical components that make it an invaluable addition to the healthcare industry.
